Allergie

Letterlijk betekent allergie 'anders reageren'. Bij een allergie reageert je lichaam op een 'overdreven' manier op in feite onschadelijke stoffen. Voorbeelden zijn allergie voor huisstofmijt, hooikoorts en voedselallergie. Het immuunsysteem ziet bepaalde stoffen als indringers, waartegen het zich moet 'wapenen'. Het gevolg daarvan is een overgevoeligheidsreactie, die zich op verschillende manieren kan uiten.
